This page explains how to download and install the Windows software we
provide for accessing the Trading Desk portion of our service. While you
can certainly access the Trading Desk using any standard web browser,
making use of this software provides you with additional features not
available in your web browser.
The name of the program is Daytraders.exe. It is provided here free of
charge and includes an automatic installation feature which is designed
to make loading the software on your computer straight forward and easy.
Daytrader.exe is a commercial grade software package, as opposed to a Java
Applet, and has been designed to function reliably along side other existing
software packages you may already have installed. It is compatible with
Microsoft Windows 95/98/XP and later operating systems.
The first step to installing Daytraders.exe on your computer is to download
and run the installation package shown below called "dtc_21a.exe". This
installation file contains the most recent version of our software
(version 2.1a) and is approximately 2.0 megabytes in size. To begin the
download, click on the link below (or right click and select 'as target save'):
NOTE: If you wish to verify the integrity of the download prior to
installation, you can run an MD5 check sum against the .exe file to ensure
it is authentic and not corrupted. MD5 check sum programs can be found at
download.com if needed.
Once the installation is complete, Daytraders.exe should be properly
installed on your computer and ready to run for the first time.
Daytraders.exe is located in the following location on your computer:
Start button --> Programs --> DayTraders.com --> Daytraders.exe
If you wish, you can also click and drag the Daytraders.exe program
directly to your desktop so it's easier to load. Or, you can leave the
Daytraders.exe program in its folder and simply create a short cut on your
desktop to that location (use the right button on your mouse for this).
Once you are setup, make sure you are connected to the internet, then
click Daytraders.exe to launch the software. The first time the program
runs, you'll need to select the File/Options menu item and configure your
username/password as well as other features. You may also wish to right
click on the different buttons and screens in the software to further
customize the program.
NOTE: If you do not wish to install your software right now, you
can still access our site and the Trading Desk from the main page at
DayTraders.com using your standard browser. Follow the link at the lower
left of the page and it will take you to the Trading Desk.
