US And Israel Launch Military Strikes On Iran As Trump Vows To Destroy Nuclear Program— 'Bombs Will Be Dropping Everywhere'

President Donald Trump confirmed the U.S. military began “major combat operations” in Iran on Saturday, vowing to destroy the country's military and terrorist proxies, eliminate its nuclear program, and topple its government.

“Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people,” Trump said in a video message posted on his Truth Social account. It came shortly after Israel also said it had initiated preventive missile attacks against the Islamic Republic.

In a statement posted on Telegram, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched the first large-scale wave of retaliatory missile and drone attacks towards Israel.

According to reports from Reuters and Al Jazeera, multiple explosions have been heard in Iran’s capital, Tehran, while blasts have also been reported in several other locations across the country.

Surrounding Gulf states like Bahrain also said a missile attack has targeted the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet headquarters in the country, while an explosion was reported in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Countries across the region have shut their airspace.
