Transparency Notices To Roblox, Other Gaming Platforms Over Child Safety, Extremism Risks

Australia's online safety regulator has issued legally enforceable transparency notices to major gaming platforms, including Roblox Corporation (NYSE:RBLX), Minecraft, Fortnite and Steam, citing concerns that these environments are being exploited for child grooming, cyber abuse, and extremist propaganda.

Australia Cracks Down On Gaming Platforms Over Safety Risks

The notices require companies to detail how they identify, prevent, and respond to risks such as sexual exploitation, radicalization, cyberbullying and hate speech.

The regulator is also seeking clarity on whether platform systems, staffing and design align with the government's Basic Online Safety Expectations.
