Why Is Tower Semiconductor Stock Gaining Monday?

Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (NASDAQ:TSEM) and Axiro Semiconductor said Monday they are delivering high-performance radar beamforming integrated circuits built on Silicon Germanium technology, targeting next-generation U.S. defense systems.

The stock was up 4.22% at $209.01 in premarket trading Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

The companies said the devices are fabricated at Tower's U.S. facilities and designed and sold by Axiro, supporting a more resilient domestic supply chain.

The beamforming ICs are ramping to volume production and are ready for deployment in critical defense applications, including radar and satellite communications.

The companies added that the chips set a new performance benchmark over existing alternatives, which could help drive design wins and strengthen their positioning in secure foundry services for defense customers.
