Nvidia's Next Great Rival May Not Be A Company — It Could Be China

For years, Nvidia Corp‘s (NASDAQ:NVDA) dominance in artificial intelligence looked nearly untouchable. The company became the backbone of the global AI boom, powering everything from OpenAI models to hyperscale data centers. But China may now be attempting something much bigger than building a competing AI startup.

According to a Financial Times report, China's state-backed semiconductor investment vehicle, known as the "Big Fund", is in talks to invest in DeepSeek at a valuation approaching $45 billion. The move would deepen ties between one of China's leading frontier AI labs and Beijing's broader push for technological self-sufficiency.
